BabyHitchHikers ("we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly: name, email address, and payment details when you create an account or make a booking. We also collect information about your children (ages, any special needs) that you enter during the booking process — this information is shared only with your booked guide. We collect usage data such as pages visited and features used to improve the platform.
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to facilitate bookings between parents and guides, process payments via Stripe (we do not store card numbers), send booking confirmations and reminders, and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Children's Information
Information about children (age, name, special needs) is collected solely to help guides prepare for each hike. This data is shared only with the guide you book and is not used for advertising or shared with any other third party. We comply with COPPA and do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 directly.
Data Sharing
We share your information only with: (1) the guide you book, for the purpose of the hike; (2) Stripe, our payment processor, to handle transactions; (3) Supabase, our database provider, to store your account data. All third parties are contractually required to protect your data.
Data Security
All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. Payment card details are handled entirely by Stripe and never touch our servers. We use row-level security on our database so users can only access their own data.
Your Rights
You can request a copy of your data, correction of inaccurate data, or deletion of your account at any time by emailing support@babyhitchhikers.com. Account deletion removes your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g., financial records).
